I got back from 4 days in Jersey last night, a Channel Island located 14km off the coast of France. At just 14km x 8km, it’s tiny, but being there is also like stepping back in time!
Shops that closed in the UK years ago are still going strong, Ubers don’t exist, and there are a lot of cobblestone streets. But what was really lovely about it, was how clean and safe it felt. We didn’t see any litter or graffiti anywhere and public flowerbeds were flourishing with immaculately manicured flowers.
The headline news was that a local market had moved locations and the airport on a neighbouring island had to close for the day! With all the hideousness currently happening in the world, it was actually a really lovely escape to a place that feels a million miles away from what has sadly become our reality…

Anyway, what is the point of me telling you this?
Well, I’m guessing that because you are travel agents, you are keen to hear about a destination I’m going to assume very few – if any – of you have visited, and therefore you may find interesting?
And… to prove a point that writing an email to your database really doesn’t have to be that hard, or take very long!
You could do exactly what I’ve just done – give an overview of the place you last visited, with your personal experience and thoughts. Your readers LOVE to hear your opinions because they signed up with you for exactly that!
So, stop telling me that you don’t have a mailing list because you don’t know what to write, or worse, you have one and you’re not sending anything to them!
Yes, I will continue to preach on about the power of email – because at over 50% open rates (my average), I know I’m reaching more of you here than on my FB page right now!
If you don’t have a mailing list and want to grow one – jump to my contact page and let’s talk about how we can generate you around 70 leads per week through targeted FB advertising/lead magnets!
OK, it’s a week of work for me before another busy weekend (including a Champagne High Tea kindly hosted by The Goring, London – watch my IG Stories for that one!) – and then I’m flying up to Newcastle for a few days.
Have a great week!
With Love,
Wendy x
